Der CSD Magdeburg e.V. setzt seit Jahren nicht nur vor Ort starke Zeichen für Sichtbarkeit, Gleichberechtigung und queere Selbstbestimmung, sondern bringt seine Stimme auch zunehmend in europäische und internationale Zusammenhänge ein. Für uns ist klar: Der Einsatz für queere Rechte endet nicht an Landes- oder Staatsgrenzen. Pride war immer international, solidarisch und politisch. Gerade in einer Zeit, in der queere Menschen weltweit erneut unter Druck geraten, braucht es starke Netzwerke, klare Haltung und grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit.
Umso bedeutsamer ist die Berufung unseres langjährigen Mitglieds und Beauftragten Gabriel Rücker in den Global Advisory Council von InterPride. Dort wird er künftig die Region 12, also Deutschland, Österreich und die Schweiz, mitvertreten. Diese Berufung ist nicht nur eine große persönliche Anerkennung, sondern auch ein starkes Signal für die Sichtbarkeit und Relevanz unserer Arbeit als CSD Magdeburg.
In den vergangenen Jahren hat sich der CSD Magdeburg auch auf europäischer Ebene zu einem verlässlichen und geschätzten Partner entwickelt. Innerhalb der European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA) konnten wir wichtige Erfahrungen sammeln, neue Perspektiven gewinnen und belastbare Partnerschaften mit Pride-Organisationen in ganz Europa aufbauen. Dass das EPOA Annual General Meeting 2026 in Magdeburg stattfinden wird, ist Ausdruck genau dieser Entwicklung. Magdeburg ist damit nicht nur Gastgeberin eines bedeutenden europäischen Vernetzungstreffens, sondern zunehmend auch ein Ort, von dem wichtige Impulse für die queere Bewegung ausgehen.
Die Berufung von Gabriel Rücker in den Global Advisory Council knüpft daran direkt an. Sie zeigt: Die Stimme aus Magdeburg wird gehört. Unsere Perspektiven, unsere Erfahrungen und unser Engagement finden auch auf internationaler Ebene Beachtung.
InterPride ist der weltweite Zusammenschluss von Pride-Organisationen und vernetzt Hunderte Mitgliedsorganisationen aus vielen Ländern. Ziel ist es, Pride-Veranstalter*innen international zu stärken, Austausch zu ermöglichen, voneinander zu lernen und gemeinsame politische und organisatorische Strukturen weiterzuentwickeln. Gerade angesichts wachsender queerfeindlicher Mobilisierung in vielen Teilen der Welt ist diese internationale Vernetzung weit mehr als symbolisch. Sie ist ein konkreter Ausdruck gelebter Solidarität und ein wichtiges Instrument, um Wissen, Strategien und Unterstützung über Grenzen hinweg zu teilen.
Der Global Advisory Council ist dabei ein zentrales Gremium innerhalb von InterPride. In ihm kommen Vertreter*innen der verschiedenen Weltregionen zusammen, um regionale Perspektiven einzubringen, Entwicklungen zu beraten und Empfehlungen für die strategische Ausrichtung der Organisation zu formulieren. Der Council begleitet die Arbeit von InterPride nicht nur beratend, sondern wirkt an wesentlichen organisatorischen und politischen Prozessen mit. Damit ist er ein Ort, an dem globale Pride-Politik mitgestaltet wird.
Gabriel Rücker erklärt dazu: „Das mir von InterPride ausgesprochene Vertrauen ist für mich eine große Ehre, und ich freue mich sehr auf diese neue Aufgabe. Ohne die Unterstützung meines Vereins und das Engagement unseres Teams wäre das nicht möglich gewesen. Es ist ein gemeinsamer Erfolg und zugleich eine gemeinschaftliche Aufgabe.“
Für den CSD Magdeburg ist diese Berufung ein starkes Zeichen. Sie macht deutlich, dass konsequente, ehrenamtlich getragene und politisch klare Arbeit auch über regionale Grenzen hinaus Wirkung entfalten kann. Sie steht für die Anerkennung dessen, was wir als Verein in den vergangenen Jahren aufgebaut haben: eine verlässliche Struktur, eine klare Haltung und den festen Willen, queere Kämpfe nicht isoliert, sondern eingebettet in eine europäische und globale Bewegung zu führen.
Wir gratulieren Gabriel Rücker herzlich zu dieser Berufung und sehen darin zugleich Auftrag und Rückenwind. Der CSD Magdeburg wird auch weiterhin Verantwortung übernehmen, Bündnisse stärken und sich mit klarer Stimme in die queere Bewegung vor Ort, in Europa und weltweit einbringen.
International recognition for queer activism from Magdeburg: Gabriel Rücker appointed to InterPride’s Global Advisory Council
For many years, CSD Magdeburg e.V. has not only been setting strong local examples for visibility, equality, and queer self-determination, but has also increasingly brought its voice into European and international contexts. For us, one thing is clear: the fight for queer rights does not end at regional or national borders. Pride has always been international, rooted in solidarity, and inherently political. Especially at a time when queer people around the world are once again facing growing pressure, strong networks, clear positions, and cross-border cooperation are more important than ever.
Against this backdrop, the appointment of our long-standing member and representative Gabriel Rücker to the Global Advisory Council of InterPride is particularly significant. In this role, he will represent Region 12, encompassing Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This appointment is not only a major personal recognition, but also a strong signal for the visibility and relevance of our work as CSD Magdeburg.
In recent years, CSD Magdeburg has also developed into a reliable and valued partner on the European stage. Through our involvement in the European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA), we have gained important experience, developed new perspectives, and built sustainable partnerships with Pride organisations across Europe. The fact that the EPOA Annual General Meeting 2026 will take place in Magdeburg is a clear reflection of this development. Magdeburg is thus not only hosting a key European networking event, but is increasingly becoming a place from which important impulses for the queer movement emerge.
Gabriel Rücker’s appointment to the Global Advisory Council builds directly on this momentum. It shows that the voice from Magdeburg is being heard—our perspectives, experiences, and commitment are gaining recognition on an international level.
InterPride is the global association of Pride organisations, connecting hundreds of member organisations from around the world. Its mission is to strengthen Pride organisers internationally, facilitate exchange, encourage mutual learning, and further develop shared political and organisational structures. In the face of growing anti-queer mobilisation in many parts of the world, this international networking is far more than symbolic—it is a tangible expression of lived solidarity and a vital tool for sharing knowledge, strategies, and support across borders.
The Global Advisory Council is a central body within InterPride. It brings together representatives from different world regions to contribute regional perspectives, discuss developments, and formulate recommendations for the organisation’s strategic direction. The Council not only plays an advisory role but is actively involved in key organisational and political processes. It is, therefore, a space where global Pride politics are shaped.
